Suppose that the project have 5 delay events. If we need to see a combined effect of delay event 1 and delay event 2, we have to create a new project and insert those delay events. Then if we need to see a combined effect of delay event 1 and delay event 3, we have to create another new project and insert those delay events. This process repeats and we can end up with more than 20 projects.
Then we find out the Baseline schedule need to be applied a small correction (for example: add 1 more relationship), we have to edit all 20 projects.
This is a huge amount of work.
This article will show you how to make a combined effect report without having to create more than 20 projects by using Multi-project model in Primavera P6.
Suppose that we have a Baseline schedule like the picture below:

For the 5 Delay Events, we will reflect them in 5 separate projects:

Now if we want to see effect of Delay Event 1 only, we open 2 projects: Baseline and Delay Event 1.
We press F9 to see the effect of Delay Event 1. However, we need to go to Schedule Option dialog and check the option named “Ignore relationships to and from other projects”:

After pressing F9, we can see the effect of delay event 1 on the Baseline:

The EOT is 15 days.
Now if we want to see effect of Delay Event 2 only, we open 2 projects: Baseline and Delay Event 2.
We press F9 to see effect of Delay Event 2:

The EOT is 10 days
Now if we want to see combined effect of both Delay Event 1 and Delay Event 2, we open 3 projects: Baseline, Delay Event 1 and Delay Event 2.
We press F9 to see effect of both Delay Event 1 and Delay Event 2:

The EOT is 25 days.
We can do the similar process as above to see combined effect of all delay events:

This is quite insightful and educative Mr. Do Duy. I am a Planning Engineer based in Nigeria who have a knack for Primavera Knowledge. Hi Mr. Khuong,
I have gone through the blog of showing combined effect. I am having some doubt that after opening baseline and delay events programme are you creating the links in between delay events and the baseline?? Please clearify.

Yes. We have to create link between delay event and baseline

This is Hasheer from UAE. I have a doubt regarding the combination of delay. How can I combine all the delay into one project, sir?
